Bajakah Tree For Dayak Ethnic
Dayak Ethnic on the island of Borneo call this tree by the name of bajakah. Bajakah trees grow in all forests on the island of Kalimantan (Central Kalimantan, West Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, North Kalimantan and East Kalimantan). Bajakah apparently also grows in the forest in North Penajam Paser District (PPU), the district in East Kalimantan which will later become the State Capital.
The name bajakah itself suddenly got its fame after three students of SMA 2 Negeri Palangkaraya (Central Kalimantan), became world champions after winning gold medals at the Scientific Olympic in Seoul, South Korea, last August. These three students presented the results of their research on the efficacy of the roots of bajakah tree. According to the three winning students, from the lab test results, the roots of the bajakah tree are able to treat deadly diseases such as cancer and tumors.

From Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, Head of the Bio-Chemical and Molecular Laboratory of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Lambung Mangkurat , Eko Suhartono, did not expect that when he was offered to examine Bajakah wood there are many antioxidant compounds in bajakah wood that can function against cancer cells. The province of East Kalimantan, which has been designated by President Joko Widodo as the State Capital, must of course prepare itself from now on the possibility that Central Capital residents will be affected by the cultivation of bajakah trees. It is possible that in the future the bajakah will cause damage to the forest, or create a trade system that is intervened by foreign investors and so on for the good and the bad.
Currently, based on IGID's observations, residents have taken advantage of a golden opportunity by opening business from bajakah roots. Prices are set. Bajakah roots are sold in markets in Balikpapan and PPU. Not only selling them directly, bajakah roots are also sold online. At the Petung traditional market, Penajam District, a trader sells bajakah roots every market day, namely Wednesday and Saturday.
